ZOMG! Doom RPG gets sequel

I tried so hard to get a copy of Doom RPG on my mobile, but to no avail. When news of a sequel for Doom RPG was announced in this year’s QuakeCon, I didn’t know if I was going to jump for joy or hit my head on the hardest surface I could find.
I may […]

Review: Mass Effect for the PC is one of the better ports

When one speaks of Bioware, the first thing that comes to mind are role-playing games. With critically-acclaimed titles such as Baldur’s Gate, Star Wars: Knights of the Old Republic, and Neverwinter Nights tucked under its belt, Bioware has truly established itself as one of the premiere RPG makers.
Mass Effect for the PC is the latest […]

Crap-Detector: Pay extra for a Fallout 3 clock

All these special editions for each game is coming out left and right. Metal Gear Solid 4 has one, so does Crysis and Grand Theft Auto IV. If you haven’t noticed by now, they’re ways for game companies to make an extra buck. Heck, I don’t think there’s anything wrong with that, but a particular […]

Now Playing: Mass Effect for the PC

I love shooters, whether they’re in third- or first-person view. It’s my favorite game genre. I also love Western role-playing games. Ion Storm did something similar in 2000’s […]

Collector’s edition for Fallout 3 announced

Fallout fans are a critical lot, but you can’t blame them. Despite developer Bethesda Softworks’s pedigree in making awe-inspiring RPGs, there are still fans that remain on the fence when it comes to Fallout 3. Can you imagine turning a beloved isometric-view RPG into an FPS? I still can’t either.
When news of a collector’s edition […]

See Oblivion rendered in the CryEngine

Do you still remember how PC gamers pined for The Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion two years ago? How could I forget? I was part of the crowd that couldn’t run the gargantuan RPG. I noticed that gamers of today face a similar challenge when running Crysis, that FPS that almost-gleefully punishes average PCs for trying. […]

Hellgate: London hands-on demo preview

Pedigree means a lot, even if a developer is rolling out its first game. This is why expectations are high for Hellgate: London. Its creator is Flagship Studios, whose core is composed of ex-Blizzard employees who were responsible for the development of Diablo, Diablo 2, Warcraft, Starcraft, and World of Warcraft.

The game is heralded […]

Show me the money: Hellgate charges savior of the world for armor

So you’re the world’s only hope to rid all demons. Does that make you a chick magnet? Perhaps. Adulation from the masses? Check. Free armor? Fat chance. You’ve been in this situation before when you played Diablo, Ultima, or some other similar game. You’re the savior and fans love you. But when it comes to […]
