Far Cry 2 is coming with a map editor, but it’s not your ordinary map editor. Normally, such editors, especially those for first-person shooters, are a tad unwieldy. And usually, map editors are released for PC versions of multiplatform games because the console editions don’t have the necessary peripherals (i.e. keyboards and mice) […]

Interestingly, Bioshock’s PS3 version comes with new content. This includes the Survivor difficulty mode, and Trophy support, […]

A lot of buzz has been generated over the racism “issue” in Resident Evil 5, the latest entry in the popular survival-horror series, because of its Africa setting. Interestingly, Far Cry 2 is an upcoming FPS that’s also set in Africa but it never seemed to have generated the same sort of talk.
GameAxis has recently […]

We have good news and bad news. First, the good: S.T.A.L.K.E.R.: Clear Sky has finally gone gold. As for the bad—the PC exclusive is going to be released a week later than the originally announced date. From August 29, the Shadow of Chernobyl prequel is coming on September 5 instead.
Does a week’s delay really matter […]

Have you ever scratched your head in wonder how Gaz, one of Soap MacTavish’s squad mates in Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare, completed the CQB test (i.e. cargo ship training level) in 19 seconds? Well, wonder no more because you get to see just how in the video.

According to Joystiq, invitations for the Resistance 2 private beta have already been sent out. If you didn’t get an email informing you that you’ve been chosen to participate, then you’re probably not a subscriber to Sony’s Qore, an online magazine that charges $3 per month. Funnily enough, being a Qore subscriber is no guarantee […]

Crysis Warhead is not a direct sequel to the original Crysis, the visceral 2007 FPS that made PCs worldwide tremble. Crysis Warhead is more of a parallel story about Michael “Psycho” Sykes, one of the characters in the original.

I’ve been exposed to all manner of video games for years and presumed to have seen it all. Games like Custer’s Revenge, Manhunt, and Cho Aniki could change the people look at the medium, but this modification for Team Fortress 2 seems to have taken the cake.
See, I presume the video I’ve embedded after the […]

This just in: Ubisoft has finally announced the minimum system requirements for Far Cry 2. While the upcoming FPS is indeed looking sweet, the required specs sure aren’t pretty. Thankfully, it’s also coming out for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3 so if you have either console, there’s nothing to worry about. Unless you […]

Want to see something fascinating/weird? Alix over at That Video Game Blog was able to get her hands on the Novint Falcon, one of the most atypical machines this side of game controllers. Don’t let its strangeness fool you—the device is nothing short of innovative, as you’ll see in the video.

You may have heard this one before: Xbox 360 gamepad users get an unfair advantage in Halo 2 for the PC, thanks to auto-aim. Jeff Gerstmann told us all about it when he was still at GameSpot, but I’ve never seen it for myself since I don’t use Windows Vista—the only operating system that can […]

Ahh, QuakeCon. It has everything: the nerds, the competitions, the cash, and the id Software games on display. High on gamers’ lists for QuakeCon is the recently announced Doom IV. According to Big Download, this upcoming Doom game won’t necessarily be named Doom IV in the strictest sense.
Id designer Tim Willits said at QuakeCon that […]
