Crap-Detector: GameSpot gives two perfect scores in a span of seven weeks

Video gaming site GameSpot, whose reputation was recently tarnished because of Gerstmanngate, actually had the gall to hand out two perfect scores in a span of weeks. First was for Grand Theft Auto IV, which was released last April 29, and the second was for Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots, which came […]

Crap-Detector: Pay extra for a Fallout 3 clock

All these special editions for each game is coming out left and right. Metal Gear Solid 4 has one, so does Crysis and Grand Theft Auto IV. Some geniuses at the Crysis-Online forums have just discovered that by simply copying and pasting a line in Crysis’ configuration file, you can now enable […]

Shit-detector: Crysis demo is delayed to meet launch date

Originally, September 25 is a red-letter day not only for Xbox 360 owners, but for PC gamers as well. You see, having the Crysis demo on this day is supposed to ease the pain of not having an Xbox 360 or play Halo 3 with the millions of fans that lined up to get their […]

Shit-detector alarm: MMOFPS took 1½ years to develop

According to Ernest Hemingway, “the most essential gift for a good writer is a built-in, shockproof shit detector.” Scanning the latest PR always causes my alarm to go off, so I might as well make good use of it. Here’s a good one:
Micro Forté, an Australian developer of MMOs, is the developer contracted by the […]
