1UP chimes in on Metal Gear Solid 4
The house that Shoe built has finally chimed in on Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots. Did they like it? Watch and know.
If you’ve played MGS4 and agree/disagree with the review, I’d love to hear what you think.

3 opinions for 1UP chimes in on Metal Gear Solid 4

I’ve voice my opinions here on my blog:

While I haven’t seen the video I think that Jeremy Parish’s review was fair but a little off balance in some regards. The 1UP team then talked abot this with Ryan Payton on the following 1UP Yours and I think that Shane’s comments do a good job at defining the MGS4 review situation.
That is: yes sure, the game is flawed (in some small regards) and really, for MGS fans. That’s fine and was expected. But the sheer cinematic value that this game offers cannot be underestimated. This is a break through game because of these qualities and it shouldn’t be lauded for what it is.
Of course, this is largely a problem with the review framework. I wish to further discuss these issues at a later date on my blog.

Great entry, Daniel. You had quite a lot to say about Metal Gear Solid 4. ;) I’m still working on my first playthrough, among other things, so it might be a while before I hand over a complete review.
I like the 1UP review. Andrew and Jeremy were quite objective in their opinions. More importantly, the two didn’t rave like a fanboy.
I’m seeing the issues that they’ve pointed out, so part four certainly isn’t perfect like how GameSpot says it is.

Hmmm…the 1UP review was better than most. I wrote more in my blog about the reviews actually. I am still very frustrated about reviews in general and I think that a lot of them still missed the point with this game.
