I’m sure you’ve always wondered: which version of Grand Theft Auto IV looks better–the one for the Xbox 360 or the Blu-ray edition for PlayStation 3? Tell you what; I’ll let you do the choosing.

Chronicles of Riddick: Escape From Butcher Bay is just one of the many games in my backlog list. I recently resumed my adventure in the PC shooter recently and got snagged with a particularly tricky boss fight. I love every moment of it, but I’m still clueless as to how this foe can be taken […]

I do know Grand Theft Auto IV is fantastic, despite the fact that I’ve never played it, and that the only time I’ve seen it in action is when I watch gameplay videos. I never expected it to be THAT fantastic. Even GameSpot, who’s been awfully stingy with its reviews post-Gerstmanngate, has given the game […]

Remember that bit about nu-metal band Korn writing a song for Haze, the PS3-exclusive shooter? Now that my view of Haze has been upgraded from “meh” to “rental,” I’m not sure what to think of Korn’s song, which incidentally, we found a video of.

Fallout fans are a critical lot, but you can’t blame them. Despite developer Bethesda Softworks’s pedigree in making awe-inspiring RPGs, there are still fans that remain on the fence when it comes to Fallout 3. Can you imagine turning a beloved isometric-view RPG into an FPS? I still can’t either.
When news of a collector’s edition […]

If you’re a Metal Gear fan, then you’ve probably seen a fair share of Metal Gear Solid 4 trailers. You’ve probably even watched several long clips that showed the same crumbling desert town where the aging Solid Snake sneaks around. I have bad news and good news for this new trailer. First, the bad: you […]

I’ve finally downloaded and played the Condemned 2: Bloodshot demo from PSN. I also queued up the Turok demo since I’ve never tried it either. By the time I’ve blown through the Condemned 2 demo, the Turok download was still stuck at 37% and it was already growing dark.
I guess that meant people were starting […]

As far as I was concerned, my game purchases for the year have already been determined. At least until I heard what British-born writer Ben “Yahtzee” Croshaw had to say about Condemned 2: Bloodshot, that nasty first-person brawler/shooter that requires a change of diapers to play.

I’ve raved about The Darkness long enough. While the Starbreeze-developed FPS has an excellent story mode, its multiplayer leaves a lot to be desired. I can’t speak for Xbox Live since I don’t own a 360, but I can truly say that The Darkness is a ghost town at PSN.
Choose any multiplayer mode the game […]

Yes, you read right. I’ve tried to get in the Metal Gear Online beta, but no dice. I signed up at the game’s beta version webpage several times (using different personas) and received emails saying I didn’t qualify for the MGO beta’s “download promotion.”
The emails never did say why I didn’t qualify. I do understand […]

Looks like Quake Live is now accepting beta program testers. All you have to do is visit the website and input your email address. However, the site warns: “entering does not guarantee participation in the beta program.”
If you haven’t heard of Quake Live, then you’re not alone. The online shooter is intended to be released […]

Can you name another game that lets you play a heart-devouring comic book antihero? I bet you can’t because there’s nothing quite like The Darkness, an FPS developed by Starbreeze Studios.
Sure, games that let you shoot people in the face may be a bit too common these days, but the concept of generating power from […]
