Halo 3 owned by more than half of 360 owners in the U.S.
More than half of Xbox 360 owners in the U.S. own a copy of Halo 3, says GameDaily. How did they find out? It’s just simple math, really.
Given the data from the NPD Group, it shows that 4.1 million Halo 3 copies have been sold in the U.S. Compare that with the 7.9 million Xbox 360s purchased in the U.S., and you’ve got 52% of all Xbox 360 owners having a copy of Halo 3.
To spell it out for you, divide 4.1 million copies by 7.9 million 360s, then multiply the result by 100. You’ll get 51.8%. GameDaily simply rounded off the figure.
Interestingly, that percentage could be even larger because the Xbox 360’s 30% failure rate wasn’t factored in the computation.
