Sony filed a new trademark, and it’s not for “PlayStation 4.” Instead, the trademark is for “Resistance 2,” which is expected to be the sequel to the PlayStation 3’s best-selling title so far. Bet you weren’t surprised.
We saw this coming light years away. Aside from the recent buzz, cash cows franchises aren’t new to the […]

Evlmidget25 has a lot of time in his/her hands. So much time that this Halo 3 owner spent quite a while putting together a strange level in Forge designed blow his/her MJOLNIR ass up.
The video isn’t inherently funny. What’s funny is that someone had so much spare time to put this all together. It […]

It’s been over a year now since “next gen” has become current gen. While the Xbox 360, Wii, and PlayStation 3 have been ranked in terms of sales, the debate on which is “best” continues to rage among its…enthusiasts. I’m not going to fall into that trap and set you up for a word war. […]

What a week. It’s been a mad rush as reunions, parties, and even more reunions pile up our schedule. Who said the holidays are the best time for games anyway? Not for this blogger, at least.
As the year comes to a close, once can’t help but reflect on the astounding shooters we went through the […]

I consider myself decently educated in the ways of the PC, but what I learned today told me that my current knowledge is nothing compared to what’s out there. I’ve just read that you can now do three-way SLIs if you have the cash to burn.
SLI is an acronym for Scalable Link Interface, a technology […]

The guys at 3D Realms insist on calling this latest Duke Nukem Forever trailer as a “teaser.” That means everything you’ll see in the clip would likely not represent the vaporware’s game’s actual graphics and/or gameplay.
Is it me, or does this teaser remind me of Doom 3?

The Unreal Engine 3’s eye candy is about to get even prettier. How? By incorporating a global illumination system, that’s how. Epic Games and rendering technology developer Illuminate Labs have entered a deal, making global illumination a part of Unreal Engine 3.
Beast, Illuminate’s global illumination system, will allow the Epic engine to have more realistic […]

Three Speech is a semi-official means of communication for the PlayStation. That means a lot of what the blog has to say is marketing fluff, but if you look more closely, there could be some interesting news every so often.
So when the blog off-handedly mentions the launch date of Killzone 2 in a lengthy post, […]

There was a time when Crytek took pride in making Crysis very punishing on your average systems. The company’s senior game designer even boasted that the Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 don’t have “sufficient power” to run Crysis.
Fast forward to present day.
The NPD Group recently revealed that Crysis sold just 86,633 units last November, following […]
