Deus Ex 3 is coming…in two years
Unless your name is Tom Chick, then you probably love the original Deus Ex, that lovable cyberpunk RPG/FPS. If so, then you must be happy to know that Deus Ex 3 has just been announced. What’s even more exciting (or frustrating—since the wait would be at least 18 to 24 months) is that a new video has just been released.
Never mind Invisible War—it’s just middle-child syndrome, hopefully. The absence of Ion Storm and veteran designer Warren Spector in the project leaves me rather undecided whether I should be optimistic or not.
While Ion Storm made gems like Deus Ex and Thief: Deadly Shadows, let’s not forget that the studio also came up with absolute clunkers like Daikatana and well, Invisible War. Eidos’ new Montreal studio is tapped to handle development, but it doesn’t have anything on its resume to get me drooling.
Besides, it’s useless to get too excited, considering that the Montreal studio’s production cycle is said to last from 18 to 24 months.

Sweet! Deus Ex was awesome - and thankfully, I never really played Invisible War.
This is going on my must-play list!

Consider yourself lucky that you didn’t play Invisible War. It leaves a bad aftertaste that lasts for years. Honestly, I can still taste it now, and this news of a third installment leaves me undecided on how to react.

I only played the first hour or two of Invisible Wars before moving on to another game. The game itself was quite choppy on the Xbox and not really worth my time. I’m glad to know I didn’t miss anything…
