Gears of War finally arrives

I’m having a fantastic day. Why, you ask?
Because Gears of War for the PC has finally landed on our local shelves. Yes, the game is two weeks late and there’s a good chance that you already have one. But you know what? I’ll still walk you through Gears of War.
Why, you ask? Because the blasted game rocks. I’ve only tried Gears briefly on the 360, and I sucked horribly—thanks to the controller. It’s all going to change, I tell you.
My favorite retailer phoned me this afternoon to inform me that they finally have the game. With this news, I was out in minutes.
Now, I’m back home and installing Gears as I type this entry. It’s taking a bit long, but what’s a few more minutes, right?
Curiously, as I read the box, I noticed something written in fine print at the back:
“Paid subscription required for some types of online multiplayer (e.g., cross-platform and matchmaking) in available games.”
You mean I get to frag with 360 owners? Interesting. Problem is—I have to cough up the cash. Fortunately, the game comes with a free 1 month GFW Live Gold Trial, so I’ll see if the extra fee is worth it.
Looks like installation is done.
