I’ve recently been invited to the local Hellgate: London launch, which is going to take place sometime during December next month. If you’re a regular here, then you may be aware that I’m not a big Hellgate fan.
Why then am I going?
Aside from the prospect of free chow, I’ve been itching to go because I’m […]

Don’t believe everything you read in the internet, even if they came from so-called reputable game websites like GameSpot, GameSpy, IGN, or Eurogamer. The reviews they’re churning aren’t always as “spot-on” as people say they are.
Case in point: The previously-released reviews for Gears of War’s PC version.
I took the time to read all […]

Unless your name is Tom Chick, then you probably love the original Deus Ex, that lovable cyberpunk RPG/FPS. If so, then you must be happy to know that Deus Ex 3 has just been announced. What’s even more exciting (or frustrating—since the wait would be at least 18 to 24 months) is that a new […]

If you can’t get the software updates that Gears of War for the PC is asking for, then be prepared to crash, and often. You’ll crash so often that you’d want to burn your copy of Gears. The factors that could probably stop you is the amount of time it took you to get the […]

If you’ve been paying attention to this blog for some time now, then you may have noticed that FPS Rantings is currently having a fixation on Gears of War for the PC. It’s only fair to feature the GameTrailers review on Gears, but don’t say I didn’t warn you.

If you like to inflict more self-torture, try tweaking your new Gears of War for the PC. Normally, tweaking the game to get the best performance is a necessary exercise, especially when your net worth isn’t good enough to be announced in a magazine.
Well, Gears gives new meaning to torture.

If the bad news about recent PC ports isn’t enough, then get ready for more. According to 1UP, the PS3 version of Half-Life 2: The Orange Box is having technical problems despite the supposed power that the console has under the hood.
The most consistent issue seems to be Episode Two’s bad framerate, which bogs […]

Can you believe this? After taking forever to install, Gears of War for the PC is telling me to install more software updates on my PC. This time, the game wants me to get AMD Processor Driver for Windows XP and Windows Server 2003 version (x86 and x64 exe) 1.3.2.16.
After downloading the update here, […]

If you’re cheap like me, then you’re still probably hanging on to your year-old rig even if Crysis or Gears have come out. I’m still hanging on to my Athlon 64, but was smart enough to put in a gig of RAM to run current shooters.
However, I never expected Gears’ installation to take this […]

I’m having a fantastic day. Why, you ask?
Because Gears of War for the PC has finally landed on our local shelves. Yes, the game is two weeks late and there’s a good chance that you already have one. But you know what? I’ll still walk you through Gears of War.
Why, you ask? Because […]

Filmmaker Uwe Boll is a man who needs no introduction. You may outwardly hate his movies, but hey, the guy’s got some boxing moves. Too bad the web nerds he challenged didn’t.
What’s the latest on the Raging Boll? Well, Uwe is going to be featured in Running With Scissors’ Postal 3. Yes, Uwe is […]

Siliconera, one of our channel’s most popular blogs, has a nice new preview of Silent Hill: The Arcade. This version is quite different from what you’ve come to know of Silent Hill games, but it’s hard to say if it’s a good or bad thing.
If you enjoy a shortage of ammunition in your games, then […]
