Rakion gets patched in Southeast Asia

Rakion Archer versus Golem

I’m a sucker for action games, especially when it lets me shoot the crap out of my enemies. I’ve recently taken a fancy for the locally-hosted Rakion, which lets me do just that—shoot the crap out of other players.

The game isn’t quite like GunZ: The Duel because in Rakion, there’s a certain level of strategy involved when you try to unleash some of your deadly projectiles. For one, you can’t just unload an obscene amount of arrows at your target. You have to time your shots and it can be insane at times, especially when you’re fighting a Ninja character that can’t seem to keep still because there’s something stuck up its rear end.

Well, things are going to get a bit more interesting because as of yesterday, Mobius Games and Softnyx rolled out a new patch across Malaysia, Singapore, and the Philippines. And you know what? It comes with new features that could change the way Rakion is played. Know the details after the jump.

Potions
The most important feature is the introduction of potions. Rakion players now experience a significant change in the game system. For instance:

  • Health or Armor Potions – Potions allow the player to recover lost Health/Armor points. In maps where there are no health power-ups available, players with potions would end up lasting longer than others.
  • Chaos Potion – This grants the user 1 Chaos point allowing players to use their chaos power 1 or 2 kills ahead of the others.
  • Fear Potion – A potion that causes an AoE effect, preventing other players from ganging-up on you.
  • Stimpack – This provides the player with more attack power; however, Health is sacrificed to activate.
  • Cell Point – This supplies the player with cell points which allows the ability to summon their creatures faster than other players.
  • Scout – A skill that allows the player to view their opponents Heath, thus providing advantage in picking out the weaker players.

Collectible Armor Set
This patch is the first series of event patches that would allow players the chance to obtain Rare Elementals Armor. These limited Elementals Armor set enhance a player’s attack power and are only acquired by gaining “Party Points” in game.

Chaos Party Event
In Team Game Modes, Event rounds will randomly appear where players will be able to collect Party Points, which can be used to exchange for a piece of the Elemental Set. Event rounds will reward the winning team +5 Party Points, while the losing team gets +1 Party Point. Players must collect as much Party Points as they can in the fastest time, as only a limited number of players will be allowed to exchange their Party Points for a much coveted piece of the Elementals Set.

New Player Bonuses
Now is the best time to create a new character and experiment with a new build. Players powering up from level 1-30 get more gold at every power-up equivalent to 1,000 gold x the level they increase, allowing new Rakion players to purchase gear faster. This will be available, only, during the promo event period.

Purchase Promo
Users who top up their accounts with Rakion Cash will receive additional Gold and Party Points purchased within the promo period.

50 ePoints >1,300 Rakion Cash will get you 1,000 Gold and 10 Party Points
100 ePoints >3,000 Rakion Cash will get you 3,000 Gold and 30 Party Points
350 ePoints >12,000 Rakion Cash will get you 15,000 Gold and 150 Party Points

    hey.,,,why happened to rakion??

    after i patched the newest patch,,,i cant enter to any room.,…and its always disconnected….amf…pls wats rong with this??

    do u know how can i fix diz prob??

    i cant join anymore…the ms of the other player becomes 500+ or 900 rather,,,

    before the patch i can join the other rums..but after this new patch,,,it started to lag,,,,amf…im always disconnected…

    Hmm. Something in the patch must’ve made the game’s connection funky. I’ll ask Mobius about this.

    According to Mobius, the hitch is caused by connection issues from their servers. Mobius also said that they’re working on the issue, so just hang in there, mate. ;)

    Hey Axel,
    Two things on why you may be experiencing this:

    (1) If you’re from either Malaysia or Singapore, the international link went down last Sunday, causing major problems for players in Malaysia and Singapore to connect to our game servers. This resulted to difficulty in playing the game, as well as connecting to our relay server. As of yesterday, (10/16) status of this is resolved. mobiusgames is, nonetheless, taking extra measures to prevent the issue from recurring.

    (2) As with any patch, hiccups here and there turn up. As Mike inferred, the most recent Rakion patch (released yesterday) has prevented game access to the relay server (critical to enabling the connectivity between players, as well as lessening the time it takes to enter a room). Currently, the game developer, as well as, mobius is speedily fixing the problem.

    thank you so much,,,,

    but im here at philippines,,,

    last nyt we played rakion…den when we try to quit,,,

    this leaving room windows appeared,,,it tooked 5-7 mins before we leave the room

    is this problem is on our pc or maybe bcoz of wat u called hitch??

    i dont know,,,and im being disconnected atleast trice a game…huhu

    so far it was good,,,i can barely join the others play,,,,but sumtymz when im going to leave the room…this leaving room msg will suddenly appear….is it a problem from rakion or in my pc??

    The From Dusk Til Dawn Event was supposed to end at 31 Oct, why is it now at Nov11, the event is still running? For goodness sake, please update asap, it’s projecting a bad image of the kind of services Mobius is providing.

    GM-Iccaro, I had waited for days after your previous comment and there’s still no news regarding the scheduled date for the new update in the forum. I can’t just wait forever, do give us an estimated date for the new update. It had been nearly 3 weeks since the current “From Dusk Til Dawn Event” is supposed to end at 31Oct. The bug that disconnects any1 who get the 2nd gs is getting too annoying.

    Sir how can i solve my problem with my GameGuard??? i think it has a virus or something the file that has virus is when i start game and poof! the gameguard 360:error appeared how can i solve it??

    rukawa try to clean the memory of ur CPU

    if u have a brush clean it up =)

    you have to reinstall rakion from ur pc den u see it will work. . .

    Oh of course, those information are “private”. They’d just say they are working on it, and cannot reveal anything else. Just give up, I quit Rakion already. I’m not waiting for them to get the new update up, there’s no use asking them such questions anymore, they’d just ban you from their forums. With frequent DCs and so many cash wh0res, there’s no use playing the game anymore.

    y is hat wen u will download rakion SEA or rakion patch for asia.. in united kingdom… when ull come in… other players has very high ping??? and u canno play coz there ping is very high.. coz i want to play my rakion account in SEA… coz we uz move to UK…T_T y do they hav high ping..

    Updates delayed for 1 and a half months, Mobius pls kindly give Rakion back to Softnyx, you had done your BEST and you just have to admit that you dun have the technical capability to run a Rakion server properly.

    why do players in SEA server has a high ping????????????????????????? i downloaded the SEA server in rakion in europe but wen i play with my fellow filipinos they got high ping… why??? coz i dont want to play to rakion international… they all noob!!

    …..mmm……..i downloaded the rakion phillipines in our home in london…it was nicely downloaded…. when i tried to play… i was in good environment… but wen i was going to a room.. i cant get in cause all of the players has a veryyyyyyyy red ms/ping… why is that???

    what is the problem gm’s?????????????????????????????????????????????????? GM’S… WHY YOU DID NOT INCLUDE PHILLIPINES IN THE RAKION INTERNATIONAL…. THERES NO ASIA THERE… AND PLZ PUT PHILLIPINES IN THE RAKION INTERNATIONAL SRVER.. MAN… I CAN’T PLAY IN RAKION PHILLIPINES BECAUSE OF HIGH PINGS.. AS IN ALL OF THE PLAYERS IN THE PHILLIPINES ARE HIGH PINGS……..MAN PLEASE READ THIS………
