Halo 3 gives “sucking” a new meaning

If you think this entry is about my dislike for the Halo franchise, you’re wrong. In fact, the latest installment may have changed my mind about the series, but I digress. This post is about one of the most outlandish Halo 3-related news I’ve ever encountered. Yes, it’s almost as strange as Master Chief getting […]

Top 10 signs that Bungie may be on to something in Halo 3

The Forge map editor lets you concoct weird maps and upload them.
Über-customization in multiplayer that’s even better than the one in Halo 2.
New toys like the bubble shield and gravity hammer.
“Halo Nights.”
Halo 3 isn’t a launch title, but it sold really well.
The ending didn’t suck.
Co-op mode lets you play in Xbox Live.

Bungie has developing skillz, but driving a Warthog is another matter

Microsoft may be laughing its way to the bank thanks to Bungie’s game-making abilities, but don’t ask these guys to drive a Warthog in real life.

Peter Jackson would have a fit when he sees what these guys did to his movie prop.

Jericho is practically banned in Germany

At least, that’s what GamePolitics said. It seems that the upcoming horror shooter from horror guru Clive Barker is refused classification by governing body USK (or Unterhaltungssoftware Selbstkontrolle – if you don’t speak German, good luck pronouncing it). The group is Germany’s equivalent to the ESRB.

According to GP’s source, Sony and Microsoft won’t market […]

Master Chief uses plasma grenades for foreplay

You think the bit about Master Chief scaring Koreans is weird? Then you haven’t seen anything yet. This time, the MJOLNIR-armored hero is getting it on with your girlfriend.

It must be the beer talking, eh Chief?

Shit-detector: Crysis demo is delayed to meet launch date

Originally, September 25 is a red-letter day not only for Xbox 360 owners, but for PC gamers as well. You see, having the Crysis demo on this day is supposed to ease the pain of not having an Xbox 360 or play Halo 3 with the millions of fans that lined up to get their […]

Microsoft should be paying me for this: more Halo 3 ads

Yes, the Halo 3 onslaught continues. Here are a couple more Halo 3 ads. Thankfully, Master Chief didn’t have to fight huge lizards for these clips.

This one’s pretty good. I love the way the Spiker looked, and when the veteran picked it up, the weapon seemed really heavy. Have I mentioned that the video had […]

Bioshock annoyance #1: Motion sickness gives that Half-Life 2 feeling

You’ve played 3D shooters for the longest time. Your accomplished games are worth around 10 years of action from Unreal Tournament, all those Jedi Knight titles, F.E.A.R., Doom 3, No One Lives Forever 2, Halo 1 and 2, and Duke Nukem, among a few.

Sure, you may have felt a little sick when you played […]

The best Halo case mod evar

Halo 3 is just a day away, and a lot of hardcore fans in North America seem to be lining up for the game. At least, those who didn’t preorder anyway. After all, lining up for a game is the best way to show everyone you’re hardcore, right?

Wrong.

Maxconsole sure got my attention when […]

Before Bioshock’s superiority was System Shock 2’s piss-inducing frights

That’s correct. You may be having the time of your life in Rapture, but let’s not forget its spiritual predecessor—the space horror game titled System Shock 2. Granted that SS2 is the sequel to the ancient System Shock, but I’m here to promote my retro review on the former.

SS2 is just plain fantastic. While […]

The vigil is over: so THIS is Rapture

Yes, you read right. I finally have a personal copy of Bioshock, and have the scars to prove it.

After a lot of waiting, I’ve finally gotten a taste of Rapture. Other than the fact that Bioshock is currently a hot game (despite the crazy buzz generated by Halo 3), I’m going to make the […]

Cliffy B. says Bioshock is his Game of the Year

Clifford Bleszinski, Epic Games’ superstar designer, loves Bioshock. Cliffy B. loves it so much that he considers it his game of the year. Not Halo 3 (which isn’t out yet as of this writing), not Metroid Prime 3: Corruption, or whatever AAA title that’s set to come out late 2007.

The designer then proceeds to […]
