Live-action Halo clip raises questions
You won’t believe this. We have a live-action video of Halo! No, it’s not the motion picture that you’re clamoring for—it’s a promotional film financed by Microsoft that’s supposed to whet your appetite for anything Halo that they throw at you.
Two things stood out for me in the clip: A) Why did the Pelican (the dropship) drop the Warthog when the troops could have boarded the Pelican and escaped? B) Is it me, or is the poor level design in Halo alive and well in the short film? I saw a lot of similar-looking walls in there that’s bound to confuse you when you run through them.
Granted that Pelicans dropping Warthogs is a common occurrence in Halo games, but in the short film’s context, the troops are escaping.
“Package retrieved, need immediate evac, over.”
Choosing the Warthog over the Pelican to evacuate defies logic.

Plus everything looks amateurish to begin with. In-game, the MC armor looks pretty nice, especially for Halo 3. But here it looked fucking horrid.
Why did they use this garbage to promote anything Halo-related, especially when they’ve got a clearly better film production company responsible for the very nice E3 live-action materials?
