Turok is coming to the PS3, Xbox 360

There’s a new FPS in town, and it’s Turok. It’s not really that new, since there have been several Turok games that came out for a number of game systems. This new generation of Turok is coming out for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, and we’ve got several videos for you to devour.

This shows Turok’s ranged combat:

Looks pretty arcadey to me, especially the bit with the bow and arrow. The game doesn’t take physics into account. This means the projectile you launch would land exactly where you point the crosshair.

This one is for the executions gameplay:

I’ve read in an IGN preview that this execution won’t look as easy. You’ll have to press a combination of keys to pull off an execution. This is a good thing because it reminds me of Resident Evil 4’s button pressing mechanic during cutscenes, and because an auto-kill would just be too easy.

Turok’s interplay between his humanoid enemies and dinosaurs shows a lot of promise. It’s you against the armed fodder; the armed fodder is out for you; and the dinosaurs wanting a piece of everyone. Like ninjas, oversized lizards are cool.
