Ghostlight shifts new FPS to World War I theme
Game makers are officially sick of the World War II-themed games. What do they do about it? They start making World War I-themed games. According to a press release from game publisher Ghostlight, they want to set the benchmark higher with To End All Wars, a WWI FPS scheduled to come out in summer of 2008.
To End All Wars is being developed for the PlayStation 3 and the Xbox 360, and is using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3—the same engine used for Gears of War and Bioshock.
Not much has been said about the new FPS, other than developer Kuju’s effort on making the game feel “authentic.” Gameplay is said to involve combat in the trenches, trips to enemy outposts in the wee hours of the night, and artillery guns.
Sadly, there are no screenies to show us if the game is pretty or not.
Are you aching for WWI action? I can’t really say I am. I thought I wouldn’t touch another WWII game, at least until I played Brothers in Arms: Road to Hill 30. If Kuju and Ghostlight make something even half as good as that game, then I just might give it a shot.
Your thoughts?
