Church of England blasts Sony for PS3 shooter

Once again, Sony has drawn anger over the PlayStation 3. This time, the group frothing at the mouth is the Church of England. The reason? Resistance: Fall of Man, the only good FPS to date that came out of Sony’s already-controversial console.

The Church of England is pissed at Sony for using the Manchester Cathedral […]

Gears of War adds new multiplayer achievements

Hot off the news grill: Gears of War, the Xbox 360 title that always brings a tear to my eye, just released eight new achievements for the Annex game mode and the Hidden Fronts multiplayer map pack on Xbox Live.
The Annex game mode was a recent update to Gears, and it added new depth to […]

America’s Army is coming to the Xbox 360

UbiSoft and the U.S. Army recently announced that America’s Army is coming to the Xbox 360 in September this year.
Unlike its PC counterpart, America’s Army: True Soldiers comes with a single player mode, which is a pleasant surprise. Of course, it wouldn’t be America’s Army without the multiplayer, and UbiSoft wanted it done in spades. […]

The Darkness is coming

If you’re in the mood for sleeper hits, The Darkness just might be the one that will keep you busy in the middle of the year–a period when good releases are spaced too far apart.
No, it’s not that British band. The Darkness is an upcoming shooter for the Xbox 360 and the PlayStation 3, and […]

Games I’m currently playing

If you have a short attention span like I do, then I’m sure you fill up your hard drive with several games and play a different one daily. Of course, the games I play are subject to my current mood, plus other important factors like the alignment of the stars and existing geopolitical events.

My […]

Software makes Halo 2 and Shadowrun playable on XP

Are you nuts about Halo 2 and Shadowrun, but hate Windows Vista with a vengeance? As a windfall from the PC gaming gods (Falling Leaf Systems, in particular), you can finally play both games using Windows XP.

Yes, that’s right. You don’t have to “upgrade” to Vista to run these shooters. All you need to […]

Halo 3 multiplayer videos are a doozy

Want to see more Halo 3 goodness? Click play and you won’t be disappointed. 7th Columnist posted a new video showing a preview of the Epitaph and Last Resort maps.

It may not look as smacktacular as Gears of War (what 360 game does?), but we’re eagerly waiting for September 25.

Kuma\War shows us new screenshots

Remember Kuma\War? Probably not. It’s that ugly/atrocious game that came out last 2004 that you probably ignored because you were too excited waiting for Doom III or Half-Life 2. You might vaguely remember it because of some controversy over a downloadable mission, but it’s barely a blip on your radar.

Well, Kuma came out with […]

New Bioshock trailer shows us more gameplay, less AI

We’re just a couple of months away before Bioshock hits store shelves. To crank up the anticipation several more notches, Irrational has given us a hefty 7-minute trailer showing more of the shooter/RPG’s gameplay.

The game simply looks fantastic, but it’s probably going to punish my modest PC.
We’re a bit concerned about the AI […]
