Activision confirms Soldier of Fortune 3

by Mike on June 28th, 2007

Cause we can’t spelAre you ready for more controversial shooters? Hell yeah. Kotaku just announced that the third Soldier of Fortune is in the works. The new title? Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back. Sheesh, can’t the game makers even spell the word correctly? It’s Payback, one word.

Activision has confirmed this news by saying:

Soldier of Fortune: Pay Back is being published by Activision’s Minneapolis office. We have no further information to share at this point, but hope to very soon.”

According to the blog’s birdie who’s seen the current state of the game, the second installment already looks great even while in the early stages of development. One of the game’s goals is to have 36 separation points on each character model.

The birdie added that the developer plans to put in destructible environments, one of the catchphrases in games today.

Sadly, it won’t be Raven Software who’s handling the development. It’s going to be Cauldron, the makers of Knights of the Temple II (shudders). Here’s to the third being a charm.
