Fall 2006
The FPS news scene has been a tad dry lately and a recent article over at IGN showing the up and coming games for the PC made me realize why. They only listed two FPS games for this fall. Battlefield 2142 and FEAR: Extraction Point.
They have a list for every major gaming platform and I think I only counted four FPS titles in all. With Call of Duty 3 and Rainbow 6: Vegas ending the list on the 360. Kind of dawned on me how many games were actually coming out in 2007. Crysis, Quake Wars, Hellgate London, Huxley and a smattering of other titles that I’ve been looking forward to. They’re all due out next year. Damnit. Nothing better to kill your gaming high then to remember that you’ve still got at LEAST 4 months before that counter rolls over one more time. Even then it’s not guaranteed that they’ll come out right away. Could be April or some nonsense before some of the bigger titles drop. Though, my birthday is in April. And there’s always a great way to show your appreciation for your favorite FPS blogger (besides bombs and hatemail) which is birthday gifts!
So anyways here’s to another 4 months and another year. If I was already twitchy before, you can imagine how I’m gonna be then.
