FPS Rantings

You are Empty

by Matt on July 6th, 2006

Looks like gaming is getting personal. And on a deeply philosophical sense. Are you empty because of lack of faith? Because you had no lunch? That grip upon your heart because you are all alone without anyone who loves or cares for you?

oh…wait. No.

Your grip tightens on your rifle as the fear builds until suddenly you see eyes peering through the darkness. You level your weapon, pull the trigger and a hollow click follows: You Are Empty.

It’s even worse. You’re out bullets. All in all, I’m not impressed with this game at all. While the buildings looked fairly okay the character models look like something you’d find in a game from the late ’90s.
Some of the features had me giggling…err I mean. Laughing.

  • Unique conventionalized environment of the Soviet totalitarian society

Ummm okay? Cause I know most of my FPS games I’m always looking for that conventionalized environment of a totalitarian society.

  • Superb visual effects, including post-effects

Oh good. Post effects. Is that sorta like a secondary explosion? Because if it is, then I’m all for it. I like things that explode twice.

  • Distinctive and lively characters

So, does this mean they dance for me? Can I walk up to one of the mutant creatures and they’ll do a little jig and then I’ll shoot them in the face?

You know what? I am Empty. Empty of enthusiasm and caring.
