Saurbraten Game Engine

by Matt on June 16th, 2006

The first fully robust German cooking game. Make great traditional meals such as sauerkraut, brautwurst, saurbraten, and even beer!

What? No?

Fine.

Much like the original Cube, the aim of this game is not necessarily to produce the most features & eyecandy possible, but rather to allow map/geometry editing to be done dynamically in-game, to create fun gameplay and an elegant engine.

So it won’t be the prettiest shooter you’ve ever played, but it’s free and designed to be used as an engine to make your own games. That way you can get your feet wet and then once you’ve been blooded, you can move on to that dream job at (insert fav game developer) and make games for a living. Something I think Amber over at Play-Designs would enjoy. But you’ll have to ask her yourself.

For those of you low on the monetary front this might be a fun pick up for you and all of your friends since it’s free and you could even spend some time designing your own levels to play in.

w00t.

thanks to Evil Avatar for the w0rd up on this one.
