Mechwarrior Movie
FPS News can bite me today.
I’ve heard about this before but you know..you see it as a fanciful whim of a fanboy and chalk it up to not really resulting in much.
Now, obviously I’m not gonna be expecting Lord of the Rings quality from this but I’m still an over excited nerd about Giant Robots.
And one of my favorite games being made into a movie NOT Produced/Directed by Uwe Boll is very exciting. I’m sure the acting will be awful and the CG, while not amazing, does look fairly decent. I can only hope that some real big producer sees this and realizes what a rich and deep universe the Battletech one is and decides to make a Hollywood based production off of it. And if it’s not too much to ask, make it good or atleast decent? Please.
The movie looks to be based off the Dark Age ..area… of the Battletech Universe. This is after the Inner Sphere wars, and after the Clan invasion and after the Word of Blake Jihad. A time when most of HPG links across the galaxy no longer work and Mechs aren’t as numerous as they once were, forcing people to rely more on tanks, infantry and helicopters. Support units like that. (I know entirely way too much about this).
Wizkids has a tabletop game for it and of course there are the books on Amazon. I actually don’t play the tabletop game, but I do have some of the models for display on my dresser. As well as numerous toys that have come out over the years.
Now, excuse me while I go geek out some more.
