Cell Factor Interview

by Matt on April 18th, 2006

Computer Games Online managed to snag some time from the lead developer of Cell Factor:Combat Training and they put some questions to him to find out what this is all about.

Part One. Part Two

Having read what was there, I find myself a little disappointed. Quotes like

But you can bet that if we ever do a full CellFactor game with a proper single player mode,

and

we currently have no plans to develop it into a full game — unless perhaps there is suitable demand

Well damn. Here I thought it was going to be a full fledged game and it’s just a technology demo. Figures. It’s interesting how he says that they have this storyline and what not, with their elite all caps acronym special forces (LIMBO, GUARD) and a secret island with world shaping events, and yet no plans to make the game beyond what they’ve already done. I’m not overly surprised and I’m slightly dismayed but then I remember that I would have needed the Ageia PhysX card to take part in all of the really cool physics goodies, though I’m not sure how this would run on a PC without it, so in the end I guess it all evens out and I can go back to being joyfully apathetic.
