Liquidator Demo
Uhh. So I happened across this and was somewhat surprised. I hadn’t heard anything about it at all. I had only seen a news post about the game getting an update to an already existing demo. I browsed around and found their main site. My first thought was of a very wannabe Doom. Reading through the storyline I wasn’t horribly impressed either. You have these different worlds and in order to maintain peace there’s a constant flow of information exchanged. That’s kind of a cool novel idea. But then of course, the information stops and you get word that something “bad” happened. So they send in a super-special elite, awesome strike team to investigate and fix things. That’s kinda where they lost me. “Been there. Done that” comes to mind. I look at the screenshots and all I can feel is “so what?”
Of course it’s sleepers like this, that tend to be great hits. I just wish people would stop with the “Hell” worlds. I mean…OH NOES….lava, gothic architecture, and skulls chiseled into the sides of rock. I must be in Hell. Atleast the two other worlds that bought it got turned into something interesting. Like a swamp and a desolated/deserted city. How’s that for competition? (And they won)
I know this isn’t particularly damning in any sense but it did make my eyes roll a bit. Liquidator’s claim to fame is having been shown on the MTV game presentations. Because, you know, MTV is the premiere source for gaming and gaming news. If that’s your only publicity then hey, I can’t fault them for pushing it out, but still…ow.
If you’re looking for the demo I’m sure you can find it at your local Fileplanet or anywhere else if you look hard enough. The official site only seems to have a Mod to download. Which seems kinda silly that they wouldn’t host a demo for their own game, but whatever.
