Make it go away
So, I happened to see this game while perusing the intArw3b.
“Terrorist Takedown: War in Columbia”
And well. Hmm. Am I supposed to be excited? Am I supposed to utter some animalistic guttural noise as I throw the horns?
Games like this always just get me to roll my eyes and move on to something else. I’m quite tired of these developers taking advantage of the Terrorism scare and pushing out crappy games that let us beat terrorists in the face. Maybe I’m just not patriotic enough or I don’t feel the need for vengeance, but honestly, so fscking what? I don’t see a point to games like this. They’re horribly uninspired, unoriginal and tend to do nothing new except anger me. Now, not all “Terrorist” games are bad. The Splinter Cell series has been good, but that’s because they didn’t just make it a “get the terrorists because we hate them” deal and they didn’t start off with some terrorists and then build a storyline around that, it was because they were bad guys doing bad things and therefore they were terrorists by definition. Not the other way around. Maybe I’m getting tired of the realism setting games. While more people tend to be pushing towards them I’m feening for some good sci-fi, robots in space action. Ya know? Half Life 2 had a good mix. It was somewhat realistic and yet had that flair of surreal to make it interesting. That’s what it is. I find these games boring. Woo let’s storm the beach! Alright let’s kill some Nazis! Hooray for Terrorist face-punching action!!
Please.
